🔊 Bass Enhancement iBass Enhancement controls the low-frequency foundation. Sub-Bass (20-60 Hz) adds physical "feeling" — what you feel in your chest at a concert. Bass Boost (60-120 Hz) adds audible weight and warmth. Harmonic Exciter generates upper harmonics so bass is perceived even on small speakers and earbuds that can't reproduce sub-bass. Auto-Enhance analyzes your track and sets optimal levels automatically.

🎚️ 5-Band EQ
iEqualizer shapes tonal balance by boosting or cutting frequency ranges. High-Pass removes sub-bass rumble (60-100 Hz for tight metal). Tight Bass (80 Hz) adds kick punch. Body (250 Hz) controls warmth. Low-Mid (400 Hz) controls muddiness vs warmth. Presence (1 kHz) affects vocal clarity. De-Harshness (1.5 kHz) tames ear-fatiguing frequencies. High-Mid (3 kHz) controls guitar presence and clarity. High Shelf (8 kHz) adds brightness. Air (10 kHz) adds sparkle to cymbals.

⚡ Transient Shaping
iTransient Shaping controls attack and sustain independently — without changing volume like a compressor. Positive Attack makes drums punchier and more aggressive. Negative softens hits. Positive Sustain brings out room ambience and reverb tails. Negative tightens sounds and reduces bleed. Pro tip: +30% Attack combined with -20% Sustain = tight and punchy drums that cut through the mix.

⚙️ Dynamics
iDynamics controls the relationship between loud and quiet parts. Threshold sets where compression begins — only signals above this level are compressed. Ratio determines compression strength (4:1 means 4 dB over threshold becomes 1 dB). Output Gain compensates for volume loss from compression. Stereo Width adjusts perceived stereo image width (now processed by Mid-Side engine). Parallel Mix blends compressed + uncompressed signals for punchy yet natural-sounding compression — the "New York compression" technique used on virtually every modern metal record.

⚠️ Width above 150% may cause issues on mono playback systems (club PA, phone speakers). Check mono compatibility before publishing.

🎛️ Multiband Compression
iMultiband Compression splits audio into 3 bands and compresses each independently. This lets you tighten bass without squashing vocals, or tame cymbals without losing guitar body. Low Band (20-200 Hz): Controls boomy, loose bass. Mid Band (200 Hz-5 kHz): Tames guitars, vocals, snare body. High Band (5 kHz+): Manages cymbal harshness, sibilance, air. Lower threshold = more compression. Higher ratio = stronger effect. Uses RMS level detection with per-band attack/release times optimized for each frequency range.

🔥 Per-Band Saturation
iPer-Band Saturation adds harmonic warmth and analog character — mimicking tape machines and tube amplifiers. Low adds bass warmth and weight (20-500 Hz). Mid adds grit, presence, and "analog" character to guitars and vocals (500 Hz-5 kHz). High adds sparkle and air to cymbals and high frequencies (5 kHz+). Uses cubic waveshaping which generates musically pleasing odd harmonics (3rd, 5th) — the same principle behind classic analog hardware. Never boosts quiet signals (mathematically proven).

↔️ Mid-Side Processing
iMid-Side (M/S) Processing is a mastering secret weapon. It separates your stereo mix into center and sides. Mid channel = everything in the center — kick, bass, lead vocals, snare. Side channel = everything panned wide — rhythm guitars, synths, room ambience, stereo effects. Mid/Side Gain controls the balance between center focus and stereo width. High Freq shelves add brightness independently — e.g. brighten sides for "air" without making vocals harsh. Stereo Width below 100% narrows toward mono (good for bass-heavy genres). Above 100% exaggerates stereo width. ⚠️ Width above 150% may cause mono-compatibility issues on club systems and phone speakers.

🌊 Reverb & Effects
iReverb simulates natural reflections of a physical space, adding depth and dimension. Mix controls dry/wet blend — keep it low (5-15%) for tight genres like metal, higher for atmospheric or ambient music. Decay Time sets reverb tail length. Short (0.5-1.5s) for tight, punchy sound. Long (2-4s) for spacious, cinematic feel. Pre-Delay is the gap before reflections start — preserves clarity of the direct sound. 10-30ms is typical for mastering. Reverb HPF removes low frequencies from reverb to prevent muddy bass buildup — essential for clean masters.

🧱 Brickwall Limiter
iBrickwall Limiter is the final safety net. It prevents the signal from ever exceeding the Ceiling level, avoiding digital clipping distortion. Ceiling of -0.1 to -0.3 dB is standard for streaming platforms — this headroom prevents inter-sample peaks (ISPs) that can cause distortion in MP3/AAC encoding. Release controls recovery speed — faster is more transparent but can distort on bass-heavy material. 50-100ms is a good starting point. This limiter uses 20:1 ratio with 1ms attack for true brickwall limiting. Always active as the last processor in the chain.
